On tour with Lindy Hop / Swing Dance hotshots Chance Bushman and Amy Johnson
|
Meschiya began her singing career at the age of nine, earning a regular gig and $500 upon winning an adults only singing contest in a South Dakota Steakhouse.
Her style's been called punkjazz, probably as much for its defiantly acoustic and
raw qualities as for the amount of ink on her tiny frame. Fronting her band The Little
Big Horns, Lake revives long-
"With the superlative and atmospheric playing of The Little Big Horns providing the
perfect musical setting, Meschiya Lake has given this fantastic music a new lease
of life" -
“...A tall young man who calls himself Chance moves like Olive Oyl; he and his partner
Amy Johnson can jitterbug like nobody’s business. You can try to stand still while
you’re watching and listening, but I wouldn’t expect much success.” - |

Another good friend of Whitstable Folk Nights makes a welcome return.
Cara Luft likes to laugh. She does it a lot. It’s one of the first things you notice when meeting her, that and her engaging smile. It’s endearing and infectious. Nothing pretentious about her, Cara’s the real deal.
