Welcome to
The Whitstable Folk Club website

On the first Thursday of every month the Whitstable Labour Club provides the  venue for our Folk Nights where quality folk acts from Kent and around the world can be heard in the intimacy of the Back Room.

Folk Nights start at 8pm and finish at 11pm, with our main act usually performing two 45 minute sets. There is an opportunity for floor spots at the start of each session so if you play or sing and would like to have a go please contact us to book your slot. Drinks are available from the front bar throughout the evening.

Tickets are £5 for Folk Club members / £7 non-members. They are usually available on the door, but can be bought in advance from Whitstable Labour Club or Samson and Coles (Jewellers), Oxford St Whitstable, or can be reserved by contacting us.

Please take a look at What's On for the coming months  and we look forward to seeing you at the next Whitstable  Folk Night !

Michael Chapman

(Tickets £6.00 members / £8.00 non-members)

The guitar and voice of Michael Chapman first became known on the Cornish Folk Circuit in 1967. Playing a blend of atmospheric and autobiographical material he established a reputation for intensity and innovation.

He says of himself  "I've never called myself a folk singer. I call myself a songwriter and guitar player, but in them days folk clubs were the only place where you could play an acoustic guitar."
